In making this, each piece was like a doorway, and I realized Hell is a series of interconnected ways out. That's what Hell is, a way out. The only victims are those who fall huddling to the floor, hiding from their own self.
Noone is really stuck in Hell for Eternity, they feel stuck when they refuse to stand, walk through and face themself in this.
Each aspect meets in the center in the Hell Christ, as in the perfection of, so that is where I got the title for this work. There is a good reason Christ is before and after every exorcism, much the way 'where there is smoke...'
The sillouhette face on the right side is also a phoenix w/ a serpent eye. You can see my dakini's face in the maddona's spectral dress. Wrathful Vajrapani perches in the burning Tree of Dying. It was there I realised the message of Hell and given the full meanings of this map (wrathful dieties are not actually Hell) - but I will let you engage the rest from your own perceptions.
It was like parting the curtains of Sheol, making this part of my own facing and face owning. We all have some part in a collection of ideas that meet to form or many definitions of...this concept that one should feel priveledged to partake in this lifetime to meditate on it's possibility, and yes..its romance and seduction, even.
Also, I acknowledge the beauty of those who engage and know it well by this lifetime.
As for me, maybe I am one of them..yet, if I have faced and recognized myself in the realization of it, in my awareness I maintain and keep it.
I hate when people say, 'we are all going to hell' like it's just some bad thing for bad people, or a casual cage for an average bird. They don't know how rare it is in Truth. It could be viewed better as a priveledge for the few select who are brilliant and free.
We all know this at some point, what makes us great is who we are in these reconverging extensions of raw expressions.
For every miracle preserving you here, another altar raised for your soul in this temple.
This description really clicked for me. I mean to say I already thought of hell/the pit/the black in this way, but it was not as well realized or articulated.
Always nice to meet another traveling the path.

"The desire of power in excess caused angels to fall. The desire of knowledge in excess caused man to fall. But in love and charity there is no excess, neither can man or angels come into danger by it." - Francis Bacon
I wrote this after contemplating this painting a while...
Hell is a Doorway
Its arch stands
In nothing
Beckons
Crimson winking its
Knob an
Eye
Grasp and it
Turns you
Open
Into black Love
Is a
Lamp
Sinister laughter mad
Vulture feathers
Fall
Land soft settle
Terra of
Heart
Hear the aria
Every soul
Gouged
Sings breathless
You Crawl
Shame
The light Grows
Brighter onward
Bleeding
Bleeding blood runs
Into sigils
Lamplight
Falls softly summons
Radiant dissimilar
exit.

Hell, yeah! I hated my hell, but I found a back door that led to infinity..

Every piece of art out there reflects something, or someone in some way. Everything has a meaning, even the masses of mainstream manufactured art. The reason I acknowledge that fact, is because your art is different than just reflecting. Of course, it's that too...
Your art actually says something. It has a soul, if you will, that a lot of art nowadays doesn't have.
I took a quick peek through your gallery, and this is the one that caught my eye, mostly because of the colours, and then I read your comments, and it's all so very insightful.
Of course, there is nothing wrong with mainstream art. I happen to like a great deal of it, but it's still a relief to know there are artists out there producing such emotional, and beautifully brooding images, such as this.
Bravo

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Please FULL VIEW all these amazing pieces of ART. Visit the artists pages and give them a :+fav and your support. Thank you for taking the time........
